MSNBC president Phil Griffin has announced that Joy Reid will anchor her own news show on MSNBC. Reid is currently the managing editor at The Grio.com and has been a regular contributor on the network since 2011. Prior, she was a political columnist for The Miami Herald and editor of the blog, The Reid Report.
The new show, which has not yet been named, will air on February 24 in the 2 p.m. time slot.?
A news veteran who has worked in both radio and television since 1998, Reid is a 1991 graduate of Harvard University and a 2003 Knight Center for Specialized Journalism fellow. In 2008, she was a press aide to then-Senator Barack Obama’s Florida campaign.
