Growing up in Princeton, N.J., and later in Milwaukee, Wis., Janina Lundy not only was the star of plays and concerts she created with her siblings, but she also called the shots from behind the scenes. “I realized I was more interested in producing those events. So for a brief time I focused on film direction, but ultimately landed in marketing after falling in love with some courses in college,” says Lundy, who earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, with special emphasis on public relations at the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s in integrated marketing communications at Northwestern University.
Today, in her dual role of senior vice president of the Branded Entertainment and Experiential division at marketing and advertising giant GlobalHue and chief operating officer of GlobalHue Ventures, Lundy partners with established brands and celebrities to create full-scale marketing productions. In a recent project, she partnered with HBO, producing a mixtape with such artists as Common and Big Boi to promote the new season of HBO’s fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones.” “Marketing and especially branded entertainment, which is my focus, is the perfect fit for my background and interests,” she says. “I get to integrate my passion for the industry with my strategic background and the social nature of my personality.”
Lundy enjoys playing tennis, traveling and hosting friends for dinner and cocktails. Careerwise, she would like to help develop younger professionals in the industry. Personally, she hopes to expand her philanthropic activities. She currently sits on the board of Kicked It in Heels, a nonprofit focused on decreasing health care disparities among breast cancer survivors, specifically women of color and young women. “I want to enjoy the small moments in the present, and ultimately strive to live a fearless and purposeful life,” Lundy says.
