The Middle East was triggered by a war between Iran and Israel after Israel bombed several nuclear sites in Iran. This marked the beginning of the war between the two countries, which led to severe destruction of property as well as innocent lives. In the middle of the tension, the US joined Israel in its operation to destroy the nuclear sites containing a huge amount of uranium reserves. Now, as the mediator between both, he has convinced both sides to a ceasefire on Wednesday, 25 June. The ceasefire is imposed on the condition that the countries have 12 hours before the official ceasefire to finish the attacks they wish to do. After 12 days of war, the countries have agreed to a ceasefire, which might be an indicator of the end of the war.
Peace deal between the US and Iran
After all the discussions, including a ceasefire, which is imposed today, 25 June 2025, the US and Iran seem to agree on another pact. It is an agreement and a promise of peace between Washington and Iran. The Middle East envoy of the US, Steve Witkoff, has made it official that the US and Iran have had discussions on this matter and that they expect a long-term deal with Iran.
Impact of the Iran-Israel war on the respective countries
On 13 June, Israel initiated an unexpected attack on Iran and its nuclear sites, which it believes is a threat to mankind. In this attack, Iran suffered a major loss, including the wiping out of top military leaders, leading nuclear scientists, and losing several nuclear sites. To an attack of this intensity, Iran has responded with equal force and attacked Israel and its defence system.
Iran’s government has given an estimated figure of the deaths and injuries in Iran after Israel’s attack. Around 610 people were killed by Israel’s attack, while around 5000 people were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. On the other hand, Israel lost 28 lives in the counterattack by Iran.
The US and its attack on Iran’s nuclear sites
While the US has claimed that many media outlets have circulated false information, he has shared the way the attack was conducted. The US jumped in between the two countries, who were dying from the hunger of revenge. As per Trump, 30,000 pounds of bunker buster bombs were dropped on three main nuclear sites of Iran that caused huge losses for it.
According to Trump, all the nuclear sites of Iran have been fully destroyed, and Iran will not be able to undo it. However, on this notion, a lot of uncertainty and misleads are expected. The US’s Defence Intelligence Agency has suggested that the attack was not as severe as Trump has claimed. Some sources also claim that not all nuclear sites have been destroyed in Iran and that it will come back on track after a month or two.
Oil Prices after the ceasefire is declared in Iran and Israel.
The major impact of the war was not only on the two countries but also on the whole world. While the two countries were busy taking revenge on each other, the oil prices went high in the roof. However, the tension in the oil prices has eased after the ceasefire was initiated in both countries. Today, the oil prices rose by 1% or more, which caused a relaxation in the stocks relatively. Moreover, the oil trade was going just fine in the US, which didn’t let the prices drop vigorously.
To lower the interest rates, the economists of the US are expected to take action. If they lower the interest rates, it will increase the oil demand and will also lead to economic growth, which almost disrupted with the war.
Conclusion
Iran and Israel were on the odd terms for a very long time when Iran announced its nuclear program. Iran has made it clear earlier that they are not interested in getting any nuclear weapons. Moreover, the threat that Israel and the US feared was bombed to set back Iran for decades in developing nuclear power.
