In-N-Out Sues: YouTubers and influencers are everywhere in this tech-consumed world. While creating content is highly permissible, using the excuse of content for unlawful purposes is also indecent. Content Creators all over the internet have a reputation for providing entertaining content to the audience. However, some of them cross their boundaries to do something they shouldn’t do. A similar case is reported for a YouTuber, Bryan Arnett, who crossed his line in the expectations of gaining popularity.
What happened?
You may have seen many people who perform pranks in public on several occasions for popularity and content. However, most of those pranks are of a low risk of discomfort or any harm to anyone’s image. Bryan Arnett, too, went on a prank in public, in which he disguised himself as a restaurant employee.
He went to In-N-Out Burgers to film a prank in which he abused and ill-treated the customers, saying himself an employee. This video was recorded on 25 April 2025 on his YouTube channel, which has about 600,000 subscribers and followers, combined with Instagram.
In-N-Out Burgers filed a report against him for misbehaving with their customers in a disguise. They have claimed that it has severely affected their reputation in the market.
What did Arnett do in his prank video?
On 25 April, he entered In-N-Out in the disguise of an employee working there with a Red Apron, white shirt, and a paper hat, saying In-N-Out. It was a Sunday in Glendale, when these outlets are usually closed for Easter. In such a case, he took fake orders in the video, made some fictional dishes, and abused and commented on the people.
This escalated to a point when he’d told a customer that he liked seeing his wife sleeping with another man. In addition, he asked him if he was interested in it. Other than that, he was joking around with one about cockroaches and condoms which were served in the dishes.
It is not the first time he has used In-N-Out for his vulgar content. Earlier, he pranked the chain employees when he paid a bill in pennies, and another where, he hung a fake employee-of-the-month award in the restaurant. However, this time In-N-Out is not enduring his behavior and patterns to risk their reputation.
Action taken by In-N-Out on Bryan Arnett
In-N-Out has taken legal action against Bryan Arnett and has filed a lawsuit on 20 June. According to it, Bryan Arnett is allegedly accused of charges of defamation of the company and representing them in a vulgar manner on social media. In early May, a cease-and-desist letter was also sent to him to let him know that the company disapproves of his behavior. Now that he hasn’t listened to the warnings, he will be sued for visiting any location of In-N-Out in the future. In addition to that, all the earnings from the videos have to be returned by Arnett, and damages have to be covered.
It is not the first incident when In-N-Out has sued someone for pursuing similar tactics after repeated warnings. It happened back in 2018, when a YouTuber was accused of defaming the company, which has been repeated now in 2025.
All the actions were heard by Arnett when he was in his car, enjoying a meal from In-N-Out ironically. He doesn’t seem to be tensed about the consequences or legal actions taken against him by them. He has simply stated that anything that bounds to happen, happens and left the topic there itself. Arnett also admitted that he knew what he was doing and how it can affect him, but chose otherwise.
Conclusion
In-N-Out has claimed that these activities are becoming common on the internet. Many influencers post an objectionable comment or videos, which directly impacts a company and its reputation. Bryan Arnett has also crossed his line by upsetting the customers of the brand with his misleading behavior. In such a situation, taking action on the matter was a necessity.
