In an address to Congress on September 8, President Barack Obama submitted a bill that outlined a number of proposals designed to create jobs in the U.S. In his deficit-reduction proposal, he proposed raising taxes on the wealthy to help pay for the cost of the bill. Shortly after, Republicans in the House rejected the bill.

Yesterday, however, marked a glimmer of hope for bipartisanship in Washington. The New York Times reported that House members agreed to end a tax-withholding program that affects small-business owners.

There is also talk of the House passing an amendment that would correct a portion of the current health care law.?

It is a small accomplishment and in no way scratches the surface of the bigger issues on the table. But with all the opposition in Washington, a small victory is, perhaps, better than none.????
