Hip-hop legend Heavy D died on November 8 of undetermined causes. As a maverick of the genre, Heavy D, known affectionately in the industry as “The Overweight Lover,” paved the way for many of today’s tongue twisting lyricists. Throughout his career he collaborated with some of the biggest names in music including Michael and Janet Jackson. He released his last CD “Love Opus” on Sep. 17, 2011. The rapper was 44 years old at his time of death.
