Actor Hill Harper is scheduled to speak at Amtrak’s 5th Annual National Train Day. This year’s celebration takes place in Chicago, Illinois, where the theme will be “See More on a Train”.
The award-winning actor, who is also an author and a philanthropist, stars as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in television’s hit series CSI: NY. At the event, he is expected to read sections of his new book, The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in its Place, parts of which he wrote during a train ride from Los Angeles to Chicago.
“I am honored to join Amtrak in celebration of National Train Day. I had an incredible journey aboard the Southwest Chief while writing my last book. The train ride from Los Angeles to Chicago was the trip of a lifetime and I look forward to sharing my experience during National Train Day in Chicago,” said Harper.
The festivities will take place on Saturday, May 12, from 11a.m.-4p.m. at Chicago’s Union Station. Other signature events are planned to take place in NY, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. For more information, go to National Train Day.
