Grains futures, livestock prices slide

CHICAGO (AP) ? Grains futures fell in early trading Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery tumbled 24 cents to $6.55 a bushel; December corn slid 20 cents to $6.83 a bushel; December oats were unchanged at $3.4625 a bushel; while November soybeans dropped 25.5 cents to $13.105 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures declined on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle dropped 1 cent to $1.1760 a pound; September feeder cattle fell 1.27 cents to $1.3370 a pound; and October lean hogs slid 1 cent to 90.85 cents a pound.
