Giving of Life 2011 Grant Recipients Announced

    PR Newswire

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ –?Six months ago, The SoulCare Project and The Resonate Group launched a new initiative called Giving of Life, a simple way for 501c3 ministries to apply for financial grants.

In the new initiative, 501c3 ministries with an annual budget of $4 million or less completed a simple online application. Through free social media promotion, the ministries received votes from their "fans," boosting their chances of winning.

On November 4, the top 50 finalists were selected by the votes they amassed. Since then, with the help of a committee, three ministries have been chosen to receive financial grants of $50K, $20K, and $10K.

The Giving of Life Team has been hard at work for the past several weeks meeting, deliberating, and praying about the Top 50 ministries. "God has connected us with amazing people over the course of this inaugural season and we are anticipating growth in the next generation of Giving of Life," co-founder Dan Maclellan said.

The top three ministries chosen are:

    • $50,000 ? Heartline Ministries
Serving in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to provide physical and spiritual health and empowerment to women and mothers in community.
    • $20,000 ? The Simple Way
Restoring an urban community in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
    • $10,000 ? eXile International
Providing trauma care to war-affected children and former child soldiers in the Congo and East Africa through art and expressive therapy.

"We could easily just announce the recipients, cheer them on, and call it a day, but that's not what we're about," said co-founder Kerry Bural. "These ministries are impacting lives in very powerful ways. The committee wanted to highlight them so those who voted can do more than congratulate them — they can appreciate the hearts of the people behind each ministry."
