Giants Fans Crowd NYC Streets

Earlier today, the streets of lower Manhattan were mobbed. Many streets were blocked off as crowds of people rushed to either their place of employment or down to the parade on Broadway to cheer and congratulate the Super Bowl XVI champions, the New York Giants.

As fans surrounded the barricaded Broadway streets, vendors attempted to make a larger number of sales by selling NY Giants sports apparel. ?The parade for the Super Bowl champions will have an estimated economic impact of up to $38 million for the city, depending on the number of spectators,? Mayor Bloomberg said.

In the 2008 face-off, one of the most significant games in Super Bowl history, the Giants won 17-14, preventing the New England Patriots from becoming the first undefeated team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0. And now at Super Bowl XVI, the NY Giants once again defeated the Patriots 21-17. This is the second Super Bowl championship parade for the Giants in four years. Hopefully there are more to come.
