General Motors Recalls: General Motors (GM) is recalling 62,468 Chevrolet Silverado trucks in the United States due to a safety risk associated with the brake pressure sensor assembly. Fluid leakage that may lead to a short circuit is among the risks of a system brake defect according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The core of the problem in the unauthorised use of a chemical by the brake assembly supplier it will slow down the degradation process of a rubber General compound inside the sensor. In the event of adverse degradation, the short circuit might generate tremendous heat, which could entail a risk of fire, this could happen when the vehicle is turned off or simply left alone.

Small fraction of Chevrolet Silverados manufactured from 2019 to 2024 will be recalled because of this defect. GM had determined that about one percent of the vehicles subject to the recall are actually affected by the problem.
