The Trump administration imposed a 25% U.S. tariff on foreign vehicles that took the auto industry by storm. Many analysts predicted a potential rise in the prices of consumer goods. What The Ford Company Said About The Promotions?

Ford, in an official statement about the promotion, mentioned how they understand it is a period of uncertainty for many Americans. The company also added that whether it’s about navigating the complexities of a changing economy or simply needing a reliable vehicle for your family, Ford wants to help. It termed the promotion as a testament to their commitment to assembling where they sell. Ford also called it a way to give back to the communities that have supported them for generations.

The promotion kick-started on the 3rd of April 2025 and will last up to the 2nd of June 2025. This offers the customers two months to make significant savings on gas, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and diesel Ford and Lincoln vehicles launched in 2024-25. Ford Raptor models, 2025 Expedition, and Navigator SUVs, along with the Super Duty trucks, are excluded from this offer.

The company is also going to play a 30-second advertisement, which is voiced by the actor Bryan Cranston, in the NCAA Final Four 2025 tournament on April 6-7.

Surge In Demand

The automaker announced in its first-quarter earnings report on Tuesday how it has seen a surge in demand at its dealerships. This happened after the Trump administration imposed a 25% tariff on foreign cars. The consumers expected a rise in the price of the cars and moved to get ahead of it. Ford recorded a 5% rise in the company’s sales in the first quarter. A 19% surge in March drove this rise in sales, according to the reports Ford has presented.

Impact On Other Automakers

While Ford has come out with a new “From America, For America” promotion after the announcement of auto tariffs, other automakers are also severely impacted. Stellantis, whose brands include Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram, among others, mentioned it is going to idle production at plants in Canada and Mexico. The automaker is also reportedly set to lay off around 900 workers in the Midwest. Stellantis is going to pause its production at the Windsor Assembly Plant for several weeks starting April 7. It is planned to resume production on the 21st of April, 2024. This pause in production at the Windsor Assembly Plant is going to impact around 4,500 represented Windsor employees.
