Michelle Obama at Met Costume BallFirst lady, Michelle Obama honored the first lady of fashion ? Anna Wintour, with a speech at the grand opening of the Metropolitan Museum?s new costume center named after the Vogue editor, Monday, May 5.

“I?m here today because of Anna,? Michelle said during her speech at the costume center?s grand opening. ?I?m so impressed by Anna?s contributions not just to fashion but to this great museum. This center is for anyone who cares about fashion and how it impacts our culture and our history.?

Dressed in a floral, green ensemble, designed by Indian American designer Naeem Khan, the First Lady shared some of her and Wintour?s most fondest moments in front of fashion tastemakers ? like Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, were all in attendance at the MET Gala ribbon cutting ceremony.

Known for icy demeanor, Wintour showed a very rare, yet sentimental side during the ceremony.
