For the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, First Lady Michelle Obama donned a black and red floral dress by African American fashion designer Tracy Reese.
The floral frock retails at $498 and was featured on the designer?s website.
49-year old Reese, who attended Parsons School of Design and is a board member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, was quoted saying, ?We are honored that the First Lady would choose to wear one of our designs during the celebration of such a deeply significant historical moment. Mrs. Obama?s radiance makes our dresses shine!?
This was not the first time the first lady was seen in a Tracy Reese number. For her Democratic National Convention speech in 2012, she wore a pink toile and blue-gray, custom-made by the designer. Described as a ?floral jaqcuard? print, the dress was reportedly available on Reese?s site for $398.
(Reese’s flagship store opened in New York City in 2006 and recently, in 2011, a second store opened in Tokyo.)
