The Farmers’ Almanac is old-fashioned through and through, with folksy articles, its “secret” weather formula and a hole made for hanging from a hook in the outhouse “library.”
But nowadays, the 195-year-old publication’s long-range forecasts are available on computes, smart phones and e-readers.
The almanac has a mobile website and nearly 6,000 followers on Twitter. More than 30,000 people “like” the publication’s Facebook page. By year’s end there’ll be software applications for Kindle, Nook and iPad.
The almanac is predicting a stormy winter from the Middle Atlantic to the New England, summing it up as a winter of “Clime and Punishment.”
