In a recent article from The Root, writer Melinda Emerson says African American business owners should use every occasion, parties included, to build networks. Interestingly, she says that sometimes, ?It?s a good strategy to actively seek mentors and business contacts who do not look like you.?
Two of the items from the list to note include forcing yourself to network, which doesn?t come easy for some people, and perhaps most important, knowing what to do after the event.
