Ex-tech firm worker guilty of Mass. spy charge

BOSTON (AP) ? A suburban Boston man who admits providing trade secrets from the company where he worked to an undercover FBI agent posing as an Israeli intelligence officer has pleaded guilty to a charge of foreign economic espionage.

Elliot Doxer admitted in federal court Tuesday he provided trade secrets from website content delivery company Akamai (ah-kah-MY’) Technologies Inc. to a person he believed was an Israeli spy for more than 18 months.

The Brookline resident was arrested in October 2010 and charged with a count of wire fraud. That charge will be dismissed in a plea deal.

A defense attorney says Doxer has accepted responsibility and looks forward to his Nov. 30 sentencing and putting the case behind him.

The 43-year-old Doxer faces up to 15 years in prison.
