GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) ? With its distribution deal with Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures set to end late next year, DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said Tuesday that it had retained former Disney distribution chief Chuck Viane as a consultant.
The maker of the upcoming Shrek spinoff “Puss in Boots” said Viane will provide advice on the studio’s future distribution plans. Viane is a 25-year veteran of The Walt Disney Co. who left as president of global distribution early this year.
DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg was formerly chairman of Disney’s studios and worked with Viane previously.
DreamWorks is to release its third-quarter results after the market closes Tuesday.
Shares fell 10 cents at $18.78 in midday trading Tuesday.
