Don Thompson’s Exit from McDonald’s Leaves Only 5 Black CEOs at Top Companies

The impending March 1st departure of Don Thompson, CEO of McDonald?s, from the corporation is obviously bad news for Thompson. But it also means that there are just 5 remaining African American CEOs helming the nation?s Fortune 500 companies.??

The remaining five are Ursula Burns, Xerox; Arnold W. Donald, Carnival; Rodney O?Neal, Delphi; Kenneth Frazier, Merck; and Kenneth Chenault, American Express.

“Our numbers are going south on us,” said Ronald Parker, CEO of The Executive Leadership Council, an organization that works to boost diversity in corporate America.
