Delaware State University is one of the Historical Black Colleges & Universities
(HBCU). DSU is one of the African American universities that offers degrees
through the doctoral level. Like many black colleges, DSU has famous alumni in
such fields as politics (Wayne Gilchrest), the media (Maxine Lewis), and
professional sports (Shaheer McBride).
