At DSA Media Group L.L.C., Dante Simpson leads a team of media and Web-savvy professionals who approach their marketing strategies as though they were arranging a marriage. ?Thinkers, dreamers, constructors and builders,? says Simpson, they are in the business of marrying brands with celebrities. The services provided by DSA are extensive and include but are not limited to strategic campaigning, viral and social media, and digital marketing and design.? ?Everything we do still falls into the category of entertainment marketing. Basically, we are the voice of a business model that marries the brand with the celebrity for mutual marketing purposes,? Simpson says.


One of his most notable successes is the ?marriage? between the Brother? brand and Project Runway, the hit TV show. Faced with the challenge of marketing a less-than-appealing sewing machine as ?cool,? DSA Media married Brother with Project Runway and the machine has since become the signature sewing machine of the show. The machines are now widely used in Parsons The New School for Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology, schools that have been widely featured on the show. ?[Brother] saw the sensibility of bringing in Project Runway and that has led to an entirely new market for the machine,? Simpson says.


Simpson has a bachelor?s degree in business administration from Ohio State University and a master?s in business administration, with a concentration in corporate marketing, from New York University?s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Among his philanthropic endeavors, he is a campaign volunteer for Million Trees N.Y.C. and Million Tress L.A., a sustainability initiative in which he worked with ABC radio to offer listeners free tickets to live performances if they participated in an urban forestry project. If he had the time and money, Simpson says he would volunteer both at a grassroots level to those in most need.
