The court in 2014 ordered Dame Dash to pay the mother of his son Boogie, Linda Williams, a total of $50,000 This amount was for causing her prosecution under harassment in 2009. Later, Damon reportedly owed $4.14 million in back taxes to the New York state in 2015. He also revealed he owed $2 million in back taxes amid his divorce proceedings with Rachel Roy. Damon also told a judge two of his NYC apartments were in the midst of foreclosure.

Ten years later in 2022, the lawsuit between him and his former partner Jay-Z was finally settled as well. Jay-Z claimed that Dash was planning to sell his percentage of ownership of the “Reasonable Doubt” album. He also attained a restraining order against Dash. Following the settlement, Dash was almost cleared in the sexual assault lawsuit filed by Monique Bunn in 2019. However, Dash was still ordered to pay $30,000 as compensation.

Roc-A-Fella Auction Sabotage

Despite getting himself caught up in various controversies, Dash never sold the 33.3% stake he had in Roc-A-Fella Records. It was revealed last year that his stake will be auctioned by the U.S. Marshall’s Service. This was the settle the $800,000 civil judgment related to a copyright and defamation case in 2022. However, Dash later took his social media to complain about Jay-Z sabotaging the auction. His stake plummeted and he declared he would be likely unable to pay the child support or the back taxes. The social services department of NYC also complained about him and suggested whoever buys the stake will pay them through 2098.

Dame Dash Short-lived Success

Roc-A-Fella Records was one of the most successful ventures of Damon Dash. He built significant contacts in Hollywood as well as the music industry during his time with Jay-Z. Dash made good use of his clout and launched many new ventures like film production, marketing, talent management, and more. He also founded DD172 which is a media collective.
