College football teams are remembering the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Army cadets passed out American flags to fans before the Black Knights’ game against San Diego State on Saturday, the day before the anniversary. A large American flag also was unfurled as part of the tribute that included the West Point band.
In Ann Arbor, Mich., “God Bless America” was played as a scroll of Michigan graduates who lost their lives on 9/11 was shown on the video boards before the Notre Dame game.
The Washington Huskies wore white helmets with the American flag embodied within the “W” on the side of their helmets against Eastern Washington, and the “N” on Northwestern’s helmets was in the colors of the American flag.
