Brickson Diamond

Age: 38, Senior Vice President
Capital Group Private Client Services, Los Angeles, Calif.

Given his position as a senior vice president with Capital Group Private Client Services division, Brickson Diamond may appear to be a finance person at heart. Developing relationships, however, is his true passion. Finance is his medium. ?Follow the path that leads you to your passion,? he likes to say.

Diamond coordinates the division?s work with North American investment management consultants and advises select wealthy individuals, families and nonprofit organizations on investment. He joined the company in 1993 as a trainee in the Investment Management Rotational Program, and, after completing the program, spent two years in the New York office as a senior marketing associate. He left to obtain a master?s in business administration from Harvard University and returned in 1999. He holds a bachelor?s degree in organizational behavior and management from Brown University.

His passion for developing relationships extends beyond Capital. He is a founding board member and board chair of The Blackhouse Foundation, a nonprofit focused on expanding opportunities for Black filmmakers in the independent film industry. He is also the current chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Hospice Foundation, which supports patients, caregivers and families facing end-of-life issues. Having lost his mother as a child, he wanted to find a way help others dealing with grief, he explains.

For the past 17 years, Diamond has played a leadership role in Brown University Alumni Association and Brown University Annual Fund. He has been involved in alumni affairs and leadership development for Harvard Business School, and for the past four years has dedicated himself to raising his teenage nephew, Jordan.
Where does he find the time for all this? He says, ?When you are pursuing passion, it drives you.?
