B michael Spring 2014 showcase The hottest ticket in town last week during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center was the one introducing fashion designer B. Michael?s presentation of his Couture Spring 2014 Signature collection.

Of the collection, the celebrity designer – whose creations have been worn by Beyonce and actresses Tamara Tunie, Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry and Lynn Whitfield – says he ?was inspired by the glorious palette of the garden and chateau of Claude Monet while on a recent visit to Giverny.?

Glorious is the operative word here.

With ethereal beauty and enchanted gazes, models swayed down the runway Wednesday night in gorgeous, dramatic gowns that were feminine yet modern, chic yet timeless. The first set of dresses, entitled ?Monet Palette?, was a delightful color range of lilac, turquoise, sky blue and sage presented in billow skirt, off-the-shouldered, strapless and high-waisted designs.

?Many of the colors and prints of the fabrications are derived from actual photos taken in the garden. The combinations and variations of greens to blues to lilacs created by nature is perfection,? he says of the color choices.????

B., who refers to the collection as Modern Impressionism, also showcased a dapper line of menswear that featured classic seersucker, which B says is a favorite of his.

?The presentation for Spring 2014 is a sampling of my point of view?to design menswear that is masculine in form and fit, but the purpose of these clothes is recreation. Although somewhat whimsical, the clothes radiate confidence and relaxed chic,? B. says of the line.

The men looked cool and comfortable in their highly stylized, ?whimsical? outfits, sporting Tom?s canvas, classic shoes in a set of happy hues.

Brilliant.??
