SYDNEY (AP) ? An Australian court has ruled that Samsung Electronics Co. will be allowed to sell its new Galaxy tablet computer in Australia.
Wednesday’s decision from the Federal Court is a victory for Samsung in its international patent war with Apple. Apple has argued that the Galaxy devices “slavishly copy” its iPhone and iPad.
In October, Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett granted Apple’s request for a temporary injunction against sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.
Samsung appealed that decision. The court agreed on Wednesday to lift the injunction and allow Galaxy sales to go ahead.
Lawyers from both sides did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
