“I hope that one day my job isn’t necessary,” Angela Roseboro, executive vice president and chief diversity officer at the commercial real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle, is known to remark. As a member of the firm’s senior leadership team, Roseboro develops and leads best-in-class diversity and inclusion initiatives focused on recruitment and retention of diverse talent, cultural transformation as well as expansion of the supplier diversity programs.

Roseboro’s passion and knowledge give her the ability to change the corporate perception of diversity and inclusion. She says, “[Today, more companies] understand that diversity and inclusion is more of a competitive advantage and less of the right thing to do.” Her tenacity has   resulted in several successful initiatives at Jones Lang LaSalle. She launched the Manager Diversity Scorecard, which guides conversations designed to support career growth for the firm’s workforce, and introduced the annual Woman’s Summit that brings together the highest-performing women to address leadership engagement and provide resources for successful careers.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Roseboro provided guidance in human resources to Fortune 500 companies. Those clients included Genworth Financial, Whirlpool Corp., Manpower International and Rockwell Automation. Her innovative approach to diversity and inclusion has received recognition from publications such as Diversityinc, Diversity Best Practices and Black Enterprise. While she appreciates these accolades, she derives a strong sense of pride from “the ability to help talented people get to the next level.”

Roseboro, a Chicago native, attributes her success to picking a career that she loves and a desire to be the best by adding value to her employers. She encourages those new to the diversity career track to “celebrate small successes, be strategic and know your business.” Roseboro holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Roosevelt University in Illinois.
