Andrea Fant-Hobbs has multitasking down to a science. Mother, wife, community leader and vice president, account director at Vigilante Advertising, a division of advertising giant Publicis Co., Fant-Hobbs is dedicated to each of her roles. ?I believe the true measure of my success is the joy in the hearts of those I have touched in some small way,? she says.? Still, ?family is the most important thing in my life,? she adds.
At Vigilante, she manages the General Motors account, helping GM keep its finger on the pulse of the youth market. ?I love developing strategies based on a consumer-centric point of view,? says Fant-Hobbs, who received dual bachelor?s degrees in marketing and communications from Syracuse University. ?Bringing fresh, innovative thinking and ideas to the client that have a direct, positive impact on sales and market share is particularly gratifying.?
Fant-Hobbs serves on the board of the Girls Action Network, which promotes career exploration and development for young girls. ?Often the girls we work with are the first in their families to attend college, and I enjoy acting as a guiding light for them,? she says. She is also on the board of the Columbia High School Scholarship fund, which raises money to help students pursue college or advanced degrees. And she finds time to assist entrepreneurs as a marketing coach at the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership. ?I know how much courage it takes to be an entrepreneur?anyone can have an idea, but it takes courage, vision and stamina to propel the ideas into full-fledged businesses with customers and profit margins,? she says.
She experiences entrepreneurship firsthand running the home d?cor and floral design business she created. ?Send someone flowers, and surround yourself with flowers?and see how wonderful that feels,? she says. ?When we feel good, great things can happen?this is my way of empowering people to appreciate the simple beauty God has created.?
