Anaukaq Henson

This 1960s photo provided by his great-granddaughter Aviaq Henson shows Anaukaq Henson, the half-Inuit son of Matthew A. Henson, the black American aide to famed U.S. polar explorer Rear Adm. Robert E. Peary. Both Henson and Peary fathered sons by Inuit women in north Greenland a century ago. Their descendants have spread throughout Greenland and beyond. (AP Photo)
