Aziz Gueye Adetimirin launched The Network Journal (TNJ) in 1993 as founder, publisher, and CEO—identifying a critical gap: there was no Black business-oriented magazine serving the New York metro area, especially for African-American professionals and entrepreneurs (The Network Journal).

- Over time, TNJ expanded from a tabloid format to a glossy magazine reaching nearly 100,000 readers per issue and transitioning from local to global digital reach via TNJ.com.
