Executive Director, Northec Quality Assurance
The Est?e Lauder Cos. Inc.
In an industry with several billion dollars in global sales, Tennille Williams makes sure that customers get their money?s worth. As executive director of quality assurance for Est?e Lauder, she sees to it that products manufactured and assembled at the Northtec Campus in Bristol, Pa., meet the prestigious beauty brand?s standards, are aligned with corporate QA objectives, and satisfy government regulations. Williams has more than 14 years? experience in the cosmetics industry as a chemical engineer and is Six Sigma black belt-certified. Still being able to contribute her innovative thinking to many projects and discussions keeps her inspired and motivated. ?I?take each new opportunity as a challenge to drive sustainable improvement, build stronger relationships, and continually?channel this energy in achieving my leadership goals,? she says. ?There is so much that we can offer women and men in this beauty industry.?? ?
Williams has a bachelor?s degree in chemical engineering and a master?s in business administration, with a minor in marketing, from Drexel University. Higher education and high expectations at her mother?s insistence, participation in a high school leadership program, and the mentorship of two senior executives at Est?e Lauder and L?Oreal USA gave her ample tools to succeed professionally. Equally important, however, is the achievement of a comfortable balance between work, family, service and play, Williams contends. Married with two daughters, she is president of the Young Women?s Initiative at her church, participates in local 5K runs, and never misses her monthly Girls Night Out. ?I try to network with people who have my best interest at heart in assisting in the balance in my life,? she says. Humbled by her Network Journal recognition, she says it ?has created a catalyst for me to go back to my community to inspire others to reach for their dreams and never give up!?
