Donaldine B. Temple, Esq.
Director, Senior Associate Counsel??????
The Depository Trust
& Clearing Corp.
New York City
Donaldine B. Temple wears the hat of a lawyer, a dancer, a philanthropist and many others. A director and senior associate counsel at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, she advises on all legal and regulatory matters relating to the clearance and settlement of fixed income securities. In her free time, she can be found honing her skills in a class at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, or volunteering with one of the many nonprofits with which she is involved, such as New York Cares.
Temple has successfully merged her knowledge of the law and passion for service by advising nonprofit, arts-oriented organizations on corporate law and governance matters. ?I am committed to giving back more to the world than I have taken from it,? she affirms.
Temple is a first-generation American of Sierra Leone heritage. She calls her mother ?the wind beneath her wings,? noting that the trials and triumphs of immigration and single motherhood that her mother faced were a driving force for all of her own achievements.
Temple received a bachelor?s degree for a double major in history and African-American studies from Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. She is licensed to practice law in New York State and Massachusetts. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc., and is associated with Corporate Counsel Women of Color and the Association of Black Women Attorneys.
And while this versatile professional already has a full calendar of responsibilities she shows no signs of slowing down. Temple explains that she recently decided to accomplish three ?fear-conquering? items each year to broaden the scope of her capabilities. ?Something powerful happens when you conquer your fears,? she asserts. ?It encourages you, empowers you and makes you realize that your only limitations are those that are in your mind.?
