Members of the 2009 class of TNJ?s ?40 Under Forty Dynamic Achievers? can boast that their class ? the twelfth in the history of the ?TNJ 40 Under Forty? ? comes in the first year of the first Black presidency of the United States, a year when the bar in Black achievement was hoisted to historic heights.
The 2009 honorees were already reaching for the stars, through a commitment to excellence, dedication to the upliftment of their community and unstinting support of those less fortunate or less than accomplished than they are.
More than through their deeds, TNJ has come to know these 40 Black men and women through their words, which reveal an understanding and appreciation of lessons taught by family, mentors, colleagues and friends and a respect for the greater power that keeps those lessons coming. We are truly proud of these men and women.
On June 18th, The Network Journal will host its 12th annual 40 Under Forty Achievement Awards dinner. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in New York City.
