Gabrielle Simpson Named VP and Head of Communications at Barnard College

New York University Graduate Adjunct Professor Gabrielle Simpson was recently named vice president and head of communications at Barnard College. In addition to her role at NYU, Simpson also teaches at the College of New Rochelle and Iona College where she teaches integrated marketing, digital and social media, advanced public relations, media relations, corporate communications and event planning courses.

At Barnard, she’s responsible for “developing and overseeing crisis communications strategies and implementation for the College and consults with leadership teams to address potential challenges and emerging issues.”  

After graduating from Iona College with bachelor’s (TV, Video Production, Mass Communications) and master’s degrees (Public Relations), Simpson later worked as director of communications at NBC Universal, Inc. Before that, she held the position of manager of communications at CBS Corporation.
