Part of being a good leader is knowing what to say and when to say it. Using the right words at the right time will help you communicate effectively and increase the success of your company. Here are ten phrases every leader should use.?

  1. Thank you.
Giving thanks shows your appreciation and recognizes the contributions and efforts of others. Using these two little words can be the difference between being a good leader and a great leader.
  2. What do you think?
Start conversations by listening to the other person’s point of view. When you ask people for input, they are more likely to support your decisions, even if those decisions are not what they would have chosen.
  3. Why?
Asking ?why? gets ideas flowing and helps you learn about what does and does not work in your business.
  4. No.
Being a yes-person may make you popular, but leaders must be able to reject ideas or actions that negatively affect the business and its values.
  5. I don’t know.
Even the greatest leaders do not have all the answers, and strong leaders admit it. Saying ?I don’t know? instead of avoiding a solid answer or worse, making one up, shows your employees and clients that you are honest.
  6. Tell me more.
Inquisitiveness is a quality of successful leaders. Foster healthy discussion by asking for more opinions and feedback.
  7. I’m sorry.
Like everyone else, leaders sometimes make mistakes. Own up to your mistakes to create a healthy workplace atmosphere.
  8. Here’s why…
When it comes to getting support for decisions, the way you explain something is often just as important as the concept itself. Backup your choices and requests with details to make them more powerful.
  9. This is the goal.
Tell your employers where you are heading as a company. Identifying your goals will drive your organization toward success and motivate employees to stay on track.
  10. We are a team.
The best leaders collaborate and build teams. Winning results are made by a community of workers, and true leaders do not hog the limelight.?
